Jul 07, 2022

Kabul [Afghanistan], July 7: An Afghan products exhibition kicked off in Kabul on Wednesday as part of the government's plan to boost the agricultural and industries sectors.
Local businesspersons put on display their merchandise such as handicrafts, cloths, dried fruits and nuts in 180 stalls, including 70 stalls run by women.
"The exhibition aimed at introducing local products and development and growth of the private sector," said one of the organizers Ziauddin Zulmai.
The event came before the Eid al-Adha festival, which could fall on Saturday, depending on moon sightings.
The Taliban-led caretaker government has sped up efforts to boost agriculture and industries in the country, officials said.
About 2,000 people visited the exhibition on Wednesday, which will wrap up Friday, Zulmai said.
The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Afghanistan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines, Zulmai said.
