Police arrest 338 for violating coronavirus curfew

Colombo (Sri Lanka), Mar 22: The Police Spokesman SP Jaliya Senaratne stated that 338 persons have been arrested islandwide for violating curfew imposed to prevent spreading of coronavirus in the country.
The suspects were apprehended by various police stations in the island between 6.00 pm Friday (20) and 6.00 am today (22).
Most of them have been arrested for loitering on the roads.
Police said the suspects were arrested for drinking at public places, driving on the road, keeping their restaurants open, unruly behavior after drinking and selling merchandise during the curfew.
