Travel restrictions imposed in upcountry tea plantation area, another area isolated

Colombo (Sri Lanka), December 6: Health officials have taken steps to impose complete travel restrictions on the lower part of Dadukele, Welioya Estate, which is administered by the Ambagamuwa Medical Officer of Health, and to isolate the lower part of the Bogawana Linstead Estate, which is administered by the Bogawantalawa Medical Officer of Health.
Twenty five infected persons have been identified and referred to quarantine centers in the lower part of Welioya Estate, Dadukele, which is under the control of the Ambagamuwa Medical Officer of Health, and 16 infected persons have been found in the estate on Saturday (05). Among them were two 16-year-old schoolgirls and a pregnant mother, public health inspectors said.
Eight infected persons have been identified from the lower part of the Bogawana Linestad Estate which is under the control of the Bogawanthalawa Medical Officer of Health and 147 residents living in four rows of line houses in the estate have been placed under quarantine.
