Aamal subsidiary signs MoU with China Railway Tunnel Group for regional tunnel projects
Oct 18, 2026
Doha [Qatar], October 18: Aamal Company has announced a strategic collaboration between its subsidiary, Advanced Pipes and Casts Company (APC), and China Railway Tunnel Group to explore opportunities in upcoming tunnel segment projects and associated supply chain requirements in Qatar and the wider region.
The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on October 13, establishing a framework for exploring potential cooperation in tunnel segment projects and the supply of related materials and components.
The agreement is aimed at identifying potential areas of collaboration, including opportunities linked to future tunnel infrastructure developments and the supply chain requirements associated with such projects. The partnership could provide a platform for the two companies to explore their respective capabilities and expertise in supporting tunnel construction initiatives in Qatar and regional markets.
The MoU was signed by Chief Executive Officer of Aamal Company Rashid Al Mansoori on behalf of APC. Sheikh Khalid bin Faisal Al Thani and members of the executive management teams of both companies attended the signing ceremony.
The proposed collaboration comes amid continued demand for specialised infrastructure solutions and construction materials to support major development projects across Qatar and the wider region. Tunnel construction requires specialised precast concrete segments and an integrated supply chain to support project execution, making cooperation between manufacturers and experienced infrastructure contractors an important area of potential business development.
Through the MoU, APC and China Railway Tunnel Group will explore opportunities to work together on upcoming tunnel segment projects and assess related supply chain requirements. The framework is intended to facilitate discussions on potential projects and areas where the companies' capabilities could complement each other.
For Aamal, the agreement represents an opportunity for its subsidiary to explore new business prospects and strengthen its engagement with an international infrastructure group. Any future projects arising from the collaboration would depend on the outcome of further discussions and the identification of suitable opportunities.
Aamal stated that it would disclose any material developments arising from the collaboration in due course, as appropriate.
The MoU establishes a framework for exploring potential cooperation and does not, by itself, confirm the award of any specific project or a commitment to supply tunnel segments.
