Bessent’s direct warning to China as Trump wages Economic D-Day war against ‘anyone helping Iran’

Washington DC (USA), August 25, 2026 (ANI): On the question of whether US is holding back from taking action against Chinese banks for doing business with Iran, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent clearly said that “no none is above the reach of the U.S. sanctions”. At a press conference, on August 24, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent unveiled what he described as an “economic D-Day” that aims to give a final warning to countries to sever their business ties with Iran or risk having key companies and entities cut off from the dollar-based financial system. Iran has spent decades under layers of U.S. and international sanctions that have battered its economy but have not deterred its leadership.
