Radical Islamists ransack 400-year-old Sikh pilgrimage site in Pakistan

New Delhi, June 02: A historical Sikh pilgrimage site was ransacked by the radical Islamists in Narowal area in Punjab province of Pakistan. The 400–year-old Guru Nanak Palace held a special significance among the Sikh minority in Punjab and other Sikh communities residing in different parts of the world. The demolition of a significant religious site testifies the routine barbarity the minorities are subjected to in the Islamic country. Christians, Hindus, Sikhs and Ahmadi Muslims are among the religious groups in Pakistan who have been facing violence and suppression at the hands Pakistan Army and ISI. However, Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Imran Khan taking no cognizance of the heinous act perpetrated against the Sikh community - formally inaugurated the work on Kartarpur corridor. It shows the duplicity of Pakistan government in treating its minority for its political gain.
